<b:include data=’comment’ name=’commentDeleteIcon’/>

</b:loop>

2. In view of the above code I have checked lot of blogger templates that this code is used for author comments. It is very easy search above code on your blogger templates. Add the following code line on the place of (Paste your code here) in green colors of the above code.

<b:if cond=’data:comment.author == data:post.author’>

<data:comment.body/>

<b:else/>

3. Once again add this (</b:if>) code line on the place of (Add your Code line here) in green colors shown in above code.

4. Now another try to find following codeline to your blogger template like same ways mentioned above.

</b:skin>

5. Paste the following code before the above code line.

.comment-body-author {
background: #E6E6E6; /*For changing Background color*/
color: #FACC2E; /* Text color*/
border: 2px dotted #0101DF; /* for border*/
margin:0;
padding:0 0 0 20px; /* Position*/
}

6. Now change the above CSS style code values according your blogger templates for example change background colors, font colors, border shades etc which I have mentioned in green colors in the above CSS Style code.

Finally save your blogger template and enjoy with good result and increase traffic.

Please leave your comments.

Quick, what’s the point of a headline?

Is it…

A.) Get people to click?

B.) Make a promise to the content?

C.) Pique curiosity?

D.) All of the Above?

Obviously, the answer is D. But the question is, how do we get a headline to do all of that?

Well, the short answer is practice, and research.

But if you’re looking for a shortcut, I’ll let you in on a little secret…

The most effective headlines are rehashed versions of classic newspaper and magazine advertisements from the early days of copywriting.

In other words, a good majority of the most trafficked, most ReTweeted, most shared articles, are using headline templates passed down through various generations of copywriters.

Jon Morrow is an expert in crafting classic headlines into modern attention-grabbers, and to anyone searching for more at the end of this article, I highly recommend reviewing his work on the subject.

Here are three categories of the most effective headline styles available.

Learn them, use them, recycle and update them for your own personal use.

The “How To” Headline

How To Grow An Embarrassingly Large Readership

How To Launch A Million-Dollar Business

How To Earn 7 Figures By 2013

Millions of “how to” articles exist, but it’s never enough.

We crave instruction, whether we know it or not.

There’s a reason entire websites exist to teach people how to do something: when it’s put in front of us, suddenly we’re curious.

A “how to” title is your opportunity to learn something in five minutes or less.

Free education is highly valuable, and the opportunity for it never gets old.

The trick with the “How To” headline is to make a strong and clear promise, then deliver.

Bonus: Add a power word into your headline to make browsers think twice about skipping your article.

The “Be Afraid” Headline

Warning: Your Blog May Be Under Attack

5 Mistakes To Avoid When Networking

News outlets use this religiously as a lead-in to bits about everything from gun safety to hair-salon hygiene.

While we’ve all rolled our eyes at a fearmongering headline, you also know you’ve clicked on articles offering a warning or the exposition of a hoax… just in case.

You want to know you’re safe, whether it’s related to physical health or professional well-being.

When your sense of danger is triggered even briefly, you imagine the worst possible scenario and feel obligated to learn more.

Better safe than sorry, after all.

The “Calm Down” Headline

The Zen of Online Marketing

Ten Ways To Simplify Your Work Load

3 Ways to Work Less, Produce More

We all worry we’re not doing enough. We all feel like we’re just trying to keep our head above water.

The “Calm Down” headline is a way to throw your reader a life jacket.

This type of headline signals “It’s OK.” You’ve figured out how to ease that burden and you’re more than happy to share how.

Whenever you help someone simplify their lives, they’ll remember you and be forever grateful.

Don’t Stop There… Do the Research.

There are many more categories of headlines out there.

The domain of headline-writing has been filled to overflowing for decades, but these three types of headlines are a solid start to grab more attention for your blog.

Watch for articles that get the most retweets. Look at what makes the front page of Digg, or Reddit, or other social news aggregation sites. Use Topsy to see what gets shared the most from top websites like Mashable or Huffington Post or any of your other favorite websites.

Watch for patterns to see what consistently does well, then write epic blog posts.

And before we wrap this up, I highly recommend that you download Jon Morrow’s Headline Hacks report, and read through every article in Copyblogger’s Magnetic Headline series.

Remember, it’s the headline that brings people in, and even huge sites like New York Times have room to improve.

You don’t have to get it perfect right away, but you do have to work on it.

The more work you put into your headlines, the better shot you have at getting crazy traffic.

Your business needs to define its target market. Without a defined group to target your marketing message to, all of the associated costs will be lost and your message will be sent out to a majority of people who are not interested. One of the worst steps you can take in business is attracting and accepting the wrong type of customers —“any customers.”

Attracting the “any customers” is often a quest by businesses to get the ball rolling in their businesses quickly, but also to build up great portfolios of work to show off to their potential customers (their real target markets), to show off that they have a long list of customers who like their work, and to generate instant income. To attract these customers meant that businesses’ pricing had to reflect what these customers were after, which were the best prices they could find in the local area. This quest might sound like a reasonable one, and to some – a good plan of attack to start out in business. But businesses should not fall for this quest. Here’s why…

- The products and services offered become more and more aligned with the low-priced “any customers,” and therefore not in line with businesses’ real target markets.

	- The output or finished results of the businesses’ services are not of a high enough quality to be attractive to those higher-priced clients (their real target markets).

	- Their pricing attracts customers who only want the cheapest, and those customers will always shop around and get it elsewhere if it’s cheaper.

	- “Any customers” are always expecting businesses to do more work and produce more samples for no cost.

When you want the higher-priced clients, you really need to seek them out one-by-one. Finding the clients calls for other, more time consuming methods. Avoid the mistake of attracting the “any customer” instead of going only for your real target market from day one. Define your target market, make sure it’s a good one that will bring you plenty of profits, and stick to it. Do not under any circumstances do any work for people outside of your target market with one exception — if you find a client that’s a step up from your target market, you might want to consider it, but beware that there could be some business killing problem that arises from taking on that work.

If it’s confidence you lack in getting those higher-priced clients, do something about it there’s plenty of self help media available. As for fear of inferior products or services, more research will help you with that. Keep researching from multiple sources until you find the answers you seek, and take it from there. HBM

I’ve had plenty of good ideas and even more bad ones. But I think I’ve found something that’ll be very interesting to you.

It works insanely well for getting traffic, keeping people on your site, building trust, collecting leads, and I’ve never seen anyone else do it exactly like this.

Here’s the most advanced blogging strategy I’ve ever thought up.

Blogging and the Old School Advertising Rule of 7

Before we get into the strategy, you need to understand the thought process behind it. There’s an old school advertising concept that states:

“Consumers need to see an ad seven times before they’ll purchase.”

How does it apply to blogging?

I see blog posts as advertisements

If I stumbled upon your site seven times and read seven of your blog posts, then I’ll find your about page, opt-in, sales page, and probably send you an email thanking you for your blog.

With that in mind, your goal as a blogger is to get people to read seven blog posts.

Now let’s talk about how to do that.

Start with Pillar Articles for Each Category on Your Blog

Pillar articles have been around for awhile.

Basically, take your primary blog topic and split it up into categories. (You should’ve already done this to create categories for your posts.) Then write a 3,000-5,000 word, ultimate resource blog post for each category.

Here are a few ideas:

Top 101 Tips for [Category]

How to [Category]

[Category] 101

The Ultimate Guide to [Category]

[Category] for [Your Audience]

If you create a few master resources like this, people will start to trust.

This is how you become a trusted authority in your niche.

Create Specialty Articles for Each Tip within Your Pillar Articles

Once you have a few ultimate resources on your blog, it’s time to split those ideas into specialty articles that go into extreme detail on each tip.

For instance, let’s say we create a post on IncomeDiary titled, 101 Ways to Make Money Online. It’d be difficult to get that post ranking well in search because “make money online” is such a competitive keyword.

For the specialty articles, we’d take each method of making money online and dedicate an entire post to it. These posts would rank better because they’re more niche, the keywords are long-tail, so there’s less competition.

This is how you start to get traffic.

Strategically Interlink Your Pillar Articles and Specialty Articles

In the SEO Blog Post Publishing article, I wrote about the importance of interlinking, but this strategy takes interlinking to the next level.

What we have here is a cluster of similar articles on specialty topics that naturally reel in search traffic. If a search visitor is interested in, “Make Money Online Strategy #1,” then they’re also interested in #2, #3, and #4. And they’re definitely interested in the 101 Ways to Make Money Online.

Remember, our goal is to get them to read seven blog posts. So the best way to keep them on your site is to tactically link to the other MMO strategies as the call to action, and make it obvious.

Think of interlinking as a sales funnel to get people to your pillar article.

Then, on the pillar article, link back out to each of them under their corresponding tip with:

More info: [title of specialty blog post]

They’ll get drawn into your site through the specialty article, work their way through the funnel, land on the pillar article, and find a whole bunch of other articles that they’re interested in reading.

It’s like leaving a trail of M&M’s into a candy store.

This is how you keep people on your site.

Point Pillar Article to a Squeeze Page

The beauty of the funnel is three-fold:

The pillar will get a ton of traffic.
With the funnel, people will always be working their way back to the pillar article.

The pillar will constantly get re-shared.
Since it’s one of your best articles, that’ll be the one they want to share, especially since they’ve already spent a bit of time reading your site and beginning to trust you.

The pillar will rise up in search engines.
More traffic means more opportunities for people to link to it, not to mention all of the internal linking. Plus, social shares.

But the biggest benefit to this is that your pillar article becomes a perfect opportunity to collect opt-ins.

The problem with putting an email opt-in at the bottom of every post (not that I’m against it) is that I don’t trust you enough after reading just one post.

If I read two or three, then maybe.

If I read six or seven, then definitely.

People who read your pillars have probably read multiple posts and they’re looking for an opportunity to learn more from you.

You can collect emails one of two ways:

Put an opt-in box at the end of the pillar.

Make the call to action a link to a relevant squeeze page.

This is how you collect leads for people who are interested in a particular topic.

Implement This Strategy for Each Pillar Article in Each Category

The benefit of following this pillar article ? specialty article funnel strategy is that you can use it for every category. It’s like creating mini-networks of content within your blog. And each time you add a blog post, the mini-network becomes stronger and more valuable.

Not to mention, all of your pillar articles will begin climbing the search engine ladder for those competitive keywords.

Over time you’ll become the trusted authority in your niche and everyone, including big-budget corporations, will come to you with their questions.

The Final Word

The reason bloggers don’t do this is because it takes a super-human level of forethought, an incredible amount of planning, and a tremendous amount of work.

It’s a lot easier to come up with blog posts day-by-day or week-by-week.

But if you spend a little time strategically creating an editorial calendar with deliberate blog post ideas, you’ll be on your way towards creating a well-rounded, lead-generating machine, instead of just another measly blog.

I know this concept is a bit idealistic, but I think it’s something we can all strive towards.

Let me know if you’ve thought about or implemented this concept on your blog.

What is a Brand?

I’m going to put this as simple as I can: A brand is consistant message of who you are. It’s your business’ identity, and should be the same over all of the branding you do, whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, Google+, you website, or even your business card. This identity is not just about a logo though, it’s about something that people can relate to, associate with; something which will resonate to customers, to keep them coming back time after time.

The American Marketing Association defines a brand as a “Name, term, design, symbol, or any other feature that identifies one seller’s good or service as distinct from those of other sellers.”

A good brand will:

Deliver your companies message in a clear and concise manner

Connect you with the customer and motivate them to revisit you

Increase your credibility.

How Important is a Brand?

If you want to grow, you need to be something that someone can get behind, and for that, you need to have a company image; a brand. Every company has a brand in one way or another, some are just more successful than others, and when it comes to successful brands, I can’t think of much better than presidential campaigns. In a very short space of time, they build an brand for themselves, covering everything I detail in the following section. Think of Obama’s electoral campaign, how many of you have seen a variation of this poster before?

I was reading a rather interesting article online today about Occupy Wall Street, and it was talking about their failure to come together as a simple brand.

Wall Street Occupiers,

While we’re quite sure that corporate-world concepts like branding, marketing and messaging are the last things you’re thinking about at the moment, we’d strongly suggest you start soon if you want your movement to hold together and succeed.

Here’s why: Today we live in a world where activism—no matter how organic—lives at an intersection with branding. And the simpler the message, the more likely it is to find a sympathetic following.

Simple enough of a message there, and it goes on to give some solid advice…

…you have managed to make something that ought to be simple complicated by convoluting your message with a litany of tired clichés about corporations, free trade and even capitalism itself. The response to that convoluted messaging: An apathetic view from the center of America, which polls showed was originally quite sympathetic and generally aligned with the fundamental principles represented by your movement. The muddy message and unhinged theatrics have even led to a lack of support from places that ought to be friendly to your cause, like the editors of The New Republic, for instance…

…Movements with clear, simple messages are the ones that maintain focus and achieve the ends they originally sought, just like well-disciplined brands do. Think about Nike, Harley-Davidson or Apple.

So yes, I would have to agree that Branding is exceptionally important when it comes to building a company, but why have so many businesses, particularly blogs and websites, got it wrong? The simple answer, as far as I can see, is that blogs are made by the likes of you and me, with no background in marketing, so we don’t know what we’re doing when it comes to building a brand (at least we think we don’t), but that’s about to change.

How to Build your Brand

A brand isn’t something you can throw together all at once if you’re just finding your feet in your field. You need to be able to first find your direction, and then test different changes that you make to your brand as you grow. Sure, if you’ve got a branding expert doing this for you, it will happen a lot quicker than that, but if you’re doing this on your own, then it’s going to take time. And that’s fine, because as you make adjustments, you can ask for feedback, and see how well received it is.

Name

The first thing that you need to focus on, is clearly stating what you do, not who you are. Hi, I’m Josh, I’m no one. My first blog was attached to my portfolio at www.JoshuaDunlop.com and guess what? It got next to no views. No one cares who Joshua Dunlop is, but they care what Expert Photography is. Just using the name you’re halfway to understanding what I’m about, and you’re even further than halfway when it comes to IncomeDiary. So choose the right name in the first place, because even though there are successful people, such as Arianna Huffington, who have built a brand around their name, that is by no means easy to do, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone starting out.

Think about your keywords and what describes you best. Then think about what people are going to Google. As I mentioned in my last post on Facebook promotion tips that you don’t know about, it’s all well and good calling yourself Joshua Dunlop Imagery, but is that going to show up in Google, and will people know what you do when they do find you? Your name HAS to reflect your product.

Design

A visually attractive website is the next step to building a strong brand, that means putting a little bit of money into it, perhaps on a decent WordPress theme, and then changing it to suit your tastes and niche. I often flick through the websites of people who comment on IncomeDiary, and it seems to me that a lot of people don’t really pay too much attention to the design. I’ve spent very little money on ExpertPhotography, just the theme, a featured slider, a header, and a logo. It doesn’t take much, and we didn’t even do it all at once, but I consider all of it to be essential to building our brand.

Your website needs to be welcoming, so think about how it feels to be on there. Does it load slowly? Is there too many ads? Are they too intrusive? Are the colour schemes hard to look at? Are there images where there’s supposed to be images? When you get to the bottom of a page, do you want to click on another? Is the theme customised enough so that it stands out from all other people using the same one? These are all questions you need to ask yourself when viewing your website, because building a brand is part of making people want to come to your website, and design is a big aspect of this.

Symbol/Icon/Logo

As my website has grown, my aim has always to be able to be recognised by a single image, because I’ve always felt that the strongest brands in the world are made like this. Think of Nike, think of Apple, think of Coca-Cola. Whether the symbol is an image, like the first two, or a manifestation of some text, into a widely recognised symbol. Coca-Cola hasn’t changed their logo since they started business and even though they’ve chosen a text based logo, you could write anything in that style, and you would still think Coca-Cola.

To help build my own brand, I’ve gone with a simple text logo, accompanied by a circular spectrum of colour, which represents the aperture of the lens, which is suitable for my niche. I am slowly implementing the image into different parts of my website, starting at the header, and then as a watermark, and then Facebook, and soon, Twitter too. The Facebook integration of my branding is especially important because it allows me to carry out my brand through my marketing. Not only do I use my logo in my imagery, such as profile picture and wall photos, but I also use the symbol on it’s own, in the profile picture and as my thumbnail image. This is spread throughout my Facebook page, and then again on the website, in the two Facebook plugins, which only goes to reinforce my brand.

As you can probably tell, repetition is very important to helping commit a brand to somebody’s memory, so it’s important to keep the brand repetition throughout what you do.

Slogan/Tagline

This is something that I’m currently working on, and it will probably be introduced in the next site redesign. When I describe my site now, I use the phrase:

We teach expert knowledge and techniques to photographers, from beginners through to advanced.

That’s not really much of a slogan though really, it’s more of mission statement. Something like ‘Great Photography made easy’ would be better, but that’s just off the top of my head. Lets have a look at some famous brand slogans, and see how many you recognise.

“Just do it.”

“Connecting People”

“Don’t be evil”

“Life’s Good.”

“I’m lovin’ it.”

The five companies above are Nike, Nokia, Google, LG and McDonalds, not that you really needed telling that. They are all very easily recognised by their slogans, which is no small feat. You see, they’ve stripped back all of their brand to just a few words, which we all recognise, whether they’re said in or out of context.

One thing you may notice about the above five slogans/taglines is that only one of them, “Connecting People”, could you guess what they might do, and even then, you could be wrong. What does this tell us? Well, quite obviously, it’s more about the association with the rest of the branding which helps you to remember the slogan. Sure it needs to be vaguely related, but you really have a license with creative freedom. Some might even say that the contrast between the logo and title, and tagline is what makes you remember the slogan.

Content

You need to produce content that reflects your brand, whether you’re teaching, selling or just rambling. My brand is founded on photography tutorials, but I can, and will, expand into other areas of photography. My brand is photography, so to expand from there onto something that’s not nearly as relevant, such as art, would be a mistake. Stick to content that will build on your brand, because as it continues to grow, and as you gain a following, you will start to exclude the very people you’ve been working on getting to your website or business.

This is something I’ve noticed recently as I’ve started to diversify my content a little bit more as I begin to run out of subject to write tutorials on, which will happen to the best of us. In the past week, I’ve written about how to find models for free, and how to build a Facebook fan page for a photographer. Both relevant content, but not the sort of standard of tutorial that some of my fans have come to expect. Both post have done reasonably well on Facebook, and I’m sure they will do well in Google too, but they’re not as popular as some of my old favourites.

Personality

Lastly, and perhaps more important than any other thing on the list here is personality. Personality is what makes you stand out from the crowd. Some of my most popular articles have come from when I’ve written about something, using just my personal opinion as a source, because people are more interested in a person, than they are a business. Give your company a face, and you will soon start to become a lot more successful; I’ve been putting it to the test recently, and the difference is starting to show. Check out my post on why you’re not yet an authority on your niche to see what I mean.

Think about bloggers who are famous purely because they write a blog. The likes of Perez Hilton spring to mind, as a man who has created a celebrity gossip blog, for the most part under his own name. There’s no denying that he is a strong character and personality, which has made him easy to remember, and kept fans coming back. Put a face to your blog.
